Character
In mark of Athena the main character Annabeth changes
throughout the book by being a character that is not that doesn’t take chances
when doing things to being a confident character that takes chances. I know
this from the text which says “Until she met the exploding statue, Annabeth
thought she was prepared for anything. She’d paced the deck of their flying
warship, the Argo II, checking and
double-checking the ballistae to make sure they were locked down. She confirmed
that the white “We come in peace” flag was flying from the mast. She reviewed
the plan with the rest of the crew- and the backup plan, and the backup plan
for the backup plan.” From this quote we can see that she didn’t want to take
any chances to start a war between the two camps camp half blood and new Rome.
And the final example showing that she changed would be “It wasn’t me! It doesn’t
matter Reyna snapped. Someone must pay for what happened. Let it be you. It’s
the better option. Annabeth skin crawled. Better than what? Use that wisdom of
yours, Reyna said. If you escape today we won’t follow. Told you-not even a
madman would cross the sea to the ancient lands. If Octavian can’t have vengeance
on your ship, he’ll turn attention to Camp Half-Blood. The legion will march on
your territory. We will raze it and salt the earth.” So from this quote we can
see that Annabeth took charge when talking to the roman official Reyna.
