Summer Reading

The reason behind me choosing AirBorn is after considering the summary provided inside the novel it seemed like a pretty interesting book to read. What drew my attention to the book was the cover of the book the way you could see the flying ship you would think that the main setting of the novel would be in space but in reality the main setting is in a giant blimp. Some of the personal connections I made in the book were that I shouldn’t give up on my dreams no matter what hardships I would face. I would recommend this book to someone who loves to read books about adventure and tragedy this is because in some of the chapters it takes you on a wild adventure.

Summer Reading

A section of the book that I find that would hook the reader would be, “my wrist throbbed as I began slashing through the seventh line. With a mighty crack the frayed roped snapped high into the air, and the entire gondola slewed over. The unconscious pilot slid toward me and crumpled up against the low side. Without the crane’s cable holding us, we would have been tipped out into the sea. I hauled myself to the high side and last light flight line. The smell of burning fabric was terrible now, though luckily the smoke and flames were mostly dancing up away from me. But the weight of the blazing balloon was oozing down over the frame now, starting to engulf the gondola.” The reason why this quote excitement when it says “The unconscious pilot slid toward me and crumpled up against the low side.” It shows danger because of how it describes that the unconscious pilot is in danger of falling off the gondola.

Summer Reading

The main character Matt Cruise has numerous things he wants to desire in the novel Airborn but one of the main things he wants to desire is finding the beautiful creatures that a dying balloonist told him about I know this because of the quote when it says “But that night, on my watch, Benjamin Molly’s words sounded over and over in my head, and I wondered what it was he’d seen. Or thought he’d seen. Something winged in the sky by the sound of it. Beautiful creatures. Maybe he’d caught sight of an albatross or some other great seafaring bird, though certainly it was rare thing so deep over the ocean. But that night, I had to admit, I kept a sharp lookout as I swept the horizons and hopscotched over my constellations. I saw nothing out of the ordinary, none of Benjamin Molly’s beautiful creatures. But I wish I had. I liked to think there was no end of things aloft in the sky, unseen by us.” From this quote we can see how much Matt pondered what the balloonist had said about the flying creatures just above the clouds. The themes that are beginning to appear in Airbron is never give up on your dreams I know this because of the quote when it says “Every time it flared its wings, the right shot ours to its full length, but the left never quite made it. Perhaps it had been injured, or maybe its left wing was unnaturally stunted, making it incapable of flight.” From this we can see that because Matt never gave up on what Benjamin the balloonist said he actually found a winged creature. My book is structured by giving glimpse to the next chapter in the proceeding chapters.

Summer Reading

The major characters in the novel AirBorn would be the character Matt Cruise a cabin boy on an airship named Aurora. The setting in AirBorn is on an air ship named Aurora which sails in cities such as Sydney Australia and London England. Some of the conflicts that is presented in the story is Matt has meet a dying balloonist who tells him about beautiful creatures that drift through the skies. After the balloonist has died Matt meets his granddaughter who tells Matt that what his grandfather had told him is actually true that there is in fact creatures who do live above the skies. So because of this Matt and the balloonist granddaughter go on an adventure to find such creatures that the balloonist had been talking about. I predict that Matt and the balloonist granddaughter will indeed find the creatures above the skies but in order for them to do so they will have to overcome obstacles in the way that might prove treacherous but with effort the two will be able to overcome such obstacles. I would tie in AirBorn with the book Hunger Games because in Hunger Games Katnis had to overcome obstacles the same would be Matt who has to make countless decisions that could affect him in the near future.

Television Mormon Perception In Conflict With Actual Current Practices

Television Mormon Perception In Conflict With Actual Current Practices

The speaker of Television Mormon Perception In conflict With Actual Current Practices would be Roger Gibb. His goal is to show the stereotypes of Mormons that are portrayed in today’s world as untrue. The conflict that Mormons like Roger Gibb are facing is because they are Mormon they would expect them to now watch certain TV shows. So the action they are taking now is addressing the stereotypes as untrue to the community. I predict that their efforts will not go unforsaken that they will get excellent results.

Pressure to Being Locking In Teacher Letters Starts before Senior Year

Pressure to Being Locking In Teacher Letters Starts before Senior Year

The speaker of Pressure to Being Locking in Teacher Letters Starts before Senior Year is Honors English Teacher Lori Roth and Junior Bluye Demessie. The goal for Honors Teacher Lori Roth and Junior Bluye Demessie is by the end of the year teachers would be able to get to all their recommendations. The conflict that those two are facing now is since its getting close to the end of the year more and more students are getting recommendations from various teacher which can be a stressful process for teachers. So the action Mrs. Roth is taking is posting a “cap” of the number of recommendations she wants to receive for the year outside her class room door. The action Bluye Demessie is taking is she is giving out her recommendations before it is too late.
