Analysis

In Mark of Athena one of the characters Octavian is shown as someone who is extremely impulsive. Octavian doesn't listen to reason but just acts without thinking on what the consequences are. In the story Octavian proves his behavior of impulsiveness by yelling “I’ll kill you” when he got knocked into the water. "Down in the water, Octavian yelled, Get me out of here! I’ll kill you! Tempting, Percy called down. What? Octavian shouted. He was holding on to one of his guards, who were having trouble keeping them both afloat.” (Riordan 241) So from this quote we can clearly see that if Octavian hadn’t said that he was going to kill them all then maybe Percy and his friends would’ve left him out of the water and he wouldn’t have drowned.
